Author Jody Sharpe will offer her newly released book 'New Angel In Town' at no charge on February 14th and 15th, 2026 through Amazon. The book represents the seventh installment in her Mystic Bay series, which features angels living as humans in a California town where they guide residents through challenges while keeping their true nature secret.
The promotion comes as Sharpe continues to emphasize the anti-bullying messages woven throughout her work. In 'New Angel In Town,' guardian angel Ron arrives in Mystic Bay to ensure a foster child named Evan finds a permanent home, while filmmaker Noah Greenstreet documents the town's angel encounters. Sharpe explained in a recent blog post that this particular book differs from previous series entries because it compiles actual angel stories shared with her by family, friends, and book fair attendees. The full post detailing her inspiration is available at her website.
Sharpe's journey into angel-themed writing began thirty years ago following the tragic loss of her daughter Kate. During a trip intended to ease her grief, she encountered a man who appeared unexpectedly at a department store, spoke comforting words, then vanished after promising to see her at the airport. This experience, which she believes was a visitation from her guardian angel, inspired the creation of Mystic Bay—a fictional setting where angels live undetected among humans, offering guidance and performing miracles.
The author's background as a special education teacher informs much of her work, particularly her focus on bullying prevention. Her memoir 'Special Needs Children, The Angels On My Shoulder,' which placed second in the National Federation of Press Women's At-Large Communication contest, explores her twenty-five years teaching children with special needs and how their resilience influenced her spiritual outlook. Midwest Book Review noted the book's ability to identify "the 'special' in 'special needs'" through vignettes that reveal "a world where angels and kindness are present in more than one form."
Beyond the Mystic Bay series, Sharpe has expanded her angel-themed offerings to include children's literature, such as 'When The Angel Sent Butterflies,' which helps young readers ages 2 to 7 understand that love can conquer fear. She also maintains a website section called "Tuesdays With The Angels" where she shares real-life angel encounter stories submitted by the public. Submissions for these accounts can be made through an online form.
Sharpe's work has garnered recognition beyond publishing, including being selected as a winner in the annual "50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading" Book Awards through public voting. She has also developed screen treatments for two of her books, 'The Angel's Daughter' and 'Town Of Angels Christmas,' indicating potential adaptations of her spiritually themed narratives. Through her writing, Sharpe aims to transform personal grief into stories that encourage readers to contemplate life's precious moments while promoting messages of kindness and resilience against bullying.
