Joe Little III, the Grammy and Billboard award-winning artist best known as the lead singer of the 90s R&B group Rude Boys, has published a children's book titled 'Joey Wants to Sing.' The book represents a new creative venture for the artist, who aims to use his writing skills to deliver a positive message and encourage young boys to pursue their childhood dreams.
The project was developed with the assistance of Art Director Felesia McDonald, who helped bring the book's visual elements to life. The publication features extensive artwork described as brilliant throughout its interior pages, with a cover noted for its striking design. Little's motivation stems from his own childhood experiences, where he knew early on that he wanted to make an impact and influence his peers. He credits his mother's support, the guidance of his late best friend Gerald Levert, and his fellow Rude Boys band members for helping him achieve his musical dreams.
Little intends for the book to serve as a way to give back to the community and ignite the imaginations of children. He will participate in a public event to discuss his work, appearing on the HIS STORY panel at Black Writer's Weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 2, 2024. The panel will be moderated by Tobias Armand and will include fellow panelists Lem Collins and Ashante P. Stokes.
For readers interested in the book, it is available for purchase at www.joeywantstosing.com. This crossover from a established music career into children's literature highlights a growing trend of artists expanding their creative influence beyond their primary mediums, potentially inspiring similar ventures and broadening the scope of positive messaging in children's publishing.
